As a way of welcoming the new year, let’s revisit an inspirational story from recent history. It serves as a useful reminder of the need for strategic transformation, and an example of its successful implementation by one of the most iconic companies.
The story is about McDonald’s radical re-imagining of the customer experience in the late 2000’s, transforming its restaurants from eating to entertainment destinations. The move opened up compelling new reasons for customer to come more frequently and to stay for much longer periods. I am pleased to have played a part in the ideation process that led to this strategic shift.
